Beverly-Hamilton“If you cannot find something fun to do here at Park Springs, we’ve got to talk,” says Beverly Hamilton, who moved with her husband Bob into Park Springs’ Golf View Villas six years ago.

“There are so many events and activities to choose from every month that there is just not enough time on my calendar,” laughs Mrs. Hamilton, who radiates enthusiasm and energy – and who truly enjoys her function on Park Springs Social Committee.

Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton choose to move to Park Springs from their New Smyrna home in Florida when his health began to fail. They wanted to be closer to their three daughters who all live in the metro Atlanta area (their son lives in Wisconsin), and Mr. Hamilton, an avid 6-handicap golfer, loved the view from their spacious corner unit overlooking Stone Mountain Golf Course.

When her husband died three years ago, Mrs. Hamilton was buoyed by the many friends she had made at Park Springs. By serving an earlier 2-year stint on the Social Committee, followed by an active role on the Food & Beverage Committee, she had gotten to know a wide range of other Members and gained an insider’s view of the many activities that make Park Springs such a special community.

“This is such a fabulous way to live. In the first place, I think the food here is very close to gourmet, especially the menu at The Grill,” says Mrs. Hamilton. “The service in all four of the different dining venues is friendly and professional, and everyone knows you by name after just one week – quite impressive!”

“We have so much fun – the Pub is jammed every night. It’s such a great place to catch up with your friends, even if you’re not in the mood for a cocktail!”

The Social Committee offers many other opportunities to get together with friends: every month, both a dinner and a lunch are planned at a critically acclaimed restaurant somewhere in Atlanta. Every Wednesday, an Away Trip is planned by the Social Committee and coordinated by Jennifer Durham and Simone Gibson of the Leisure Services Department. Upcoming trips include a visit to the Atlanta Beltline and the Farmers Market in Grayson.

“I also take full advantage of the transportation options available to the Members of Park Springs,” notes Mrs. Hamilton. “You really don’t need a car to get around, and the Park Springs bus takes you to your doctor appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, if necessary.”

With her sparkling smile, Mrs. Hamilton concludes: “Frankly, it is a joy to live at Park Springs. Every day!”
