During the last week of July, Park Springs celebrated its tenth anniversary since welcoming the first Members in 2004. The community planned a wonderful week of activities, including Park Springs’ very first Bridge Tournament.

Bridge Tournament:

10 years at Park SpringsOur first Bridge Tournament was a huge success thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Vanstrum and Mr. Jack Wahl: about 50 members played Chicago style bridge with 5 rounds vs. 20 hands. Each round lasted 30 minutes and two partners rotated tables until all 20 hands had been played. During rounds, the players nibbled on delicious tea sandwiches, lemonade, Arnold Palmer’s, sweet tea, and dessert bites provided by the Kitchen especially for the tournament.

The Art Show:

Another spectacular event – what talent we have here at Park Springs! Thank

you to Avis Fox and her daughter Ronda, Marianne Cheek, Louise Howard, Cindy Northam, Jack and Barbara Pierce, for helping us set-up the show and a huge thank you to our artists for sharing their talents with all of us. The artwork was stunning and just a pleasure to see.

Casino Night:

The big finale and a huge hit! The kitchen staff put out a marvelous spread of fresh fish, seafood, roasted pig, and many tasty hors d’oeuvres, desserts and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

The Junction Band played great big band music for dancing while others hit the jackpot at the blackjack and poker tables.

After the week was over, Mike Wooldridge, Executive Director of Park Springs, received some great comments from our Members:

“Michael – What a week! Congratulations. Your entire staff is to be commended for pulling off a huge week of activities without any apparent hitch and always with a smile. Thank you, Don Gardner”

“Mike: What a special week we had to celebrate Park Springs’ 10th year. The outstanding programs, delicious food and interaction of residents with each other added to the enjoyment of it all. The food and beverage department did a ‘super’ presentation on Saturday. We are so blessed to have each and everyone of the staff making our time here close to perfect. Thanks again, Joan Benson.”

We had a wonderful week and thank you for being a part of our Park Springs family!
