The 2015 President’s Gala Awards Dinner is open to all ACF Professional, Senior and Culinarian Members and Industry Professionals, and culinary students will assist Chef Henry with the event.

“As a result of my extensive training at top restaurants and in-depth banquet experience, I truly enjoy creating special menu’s and hosting spectacular events!” says Chef Henry.

About Park Springs’ Executive Chef
Executive Chef Henry, CEC, has run the four distinct dining venues at the Park Springs retirement community since 2007: the Market Café Bistro, the Main Dining Room, the Springhouse Grill and the Park Springs Pub.

He completed his formal training at the Culinary Institute of America, and was offered an externship at Le Bernardin in Manhattan, working for renowned Chef Eric Ripert. From there, Chef Henry worked at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Frangello’s, a private catering company in New York. He went on to serve at The Fairfield Tara Hotel in New Jersey, and also worked under the direction of Executive Chef Enio Riga, personal chef of Johnny Carson of The Tonight Show.

On his first venture South, Chef Henry was employed by Atlanta’s iconic restaurant, Pano & Paul’s in Buckhead, but because of family ties in New Jersey, Chef Derrick returned there and accepted a position with the BMW Corporation as Executive Chef in their head office in Park Ridge (NJ).

However, when Andy Isakson of Isakson Living, the owner and operator of Park Springs, offered him the position of Executive Chef at Park Springs, the resort-style senior community in Stone Mountain, Chef Henry accepted with pleasure.

DSC05070Every day, the Members at Park Springs are thankful for Chef Henry’s extensive experience and culinary expertise. He and his team are happy to create the magnificent dining experience at Park Springs. Thanks to him, good taste, sophistication, quality, creativity and healthy choices are always on the menu.
