Alzheimer’s Association

November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month – but every day of the year, millions of American families deal with Alzheimer’s disease and how it affects their loved ones.

Fundraising at Park Springs

Throughout the summer of 2014, Park Springs, the award-winning retirement community in Stone Mountain, hosted a number of fundraising activities in an effort to raise $5,000 to support the Alzheimer’s Association, such as:

  • Movies, Music and Memories
  • Ice Cream Socials
  • Krispy Kreme Donut Sale
  • Buy The Bone BBQ
  • Breakfast Buffet
  • Bake Sale
  • A Night at the Speakeasy (September 12)

“Together with the Members and Staff of Park Springs, we’re on the move to end Alzheimer’s,” says Jennifer Durham, Director of Community Life Services at Park Springs, who coordinated these fundraising events together with Amanie Waddell, Assisted Living Manager. “We had already reached our goal in August, but we just keep on going to raise money for this important cause.”

The Alzheimer’s Association, the world leader in Alzheimer’s research, care and support, is dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for the disease.

Park Springs offers Julia’s Suites memory care, especially designed for Members with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Andy Isakson, the developer and owner of Park Springs, named Julia’s Suites after his own mother.
