Park Springs Team Participates in the 2012 Alzheimer’s Association Annual Walk

Home » Events » Park Springs Team Participates in the 2012 Alzheimer’s Association Annual Walk

A team of Park Springs employees recently walked in the 2012 Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Atlantic Station. The walk, held on September 29th helps to build awareness for the disease as well as raise money for research and support.

The Park Springs team consisted of 15 walkers who arrived at Atlantic Station excited to support this cause. They walked the entire three mile route while carrying color coded flowers, each color signaling that person’s connection to Alzheimer’s. The Park Springs staff works closely with seniors and most have cared for someone with the debilitating disease at one point or another.

Alzheimer’s currently affects more that 5 million people in the United States, a number that is expected to triple over the next 35 years. Funding raised is used for research that may lead to prevention, new treatments and hopefully a cure one day for all affected.

At Park Springs, we know that Alzheimer’s disease can rob wonderful people of their amazing memories and change their families’ lives forever. It was an honor for our staff to walk for those we have known fighting this disease and we look forward to participating again next year!
