On Wednesday, April 24 from 1 – 4 pm, Park Springs, the nationally-recognized continuing care retirement community in Stone Mountain will host the third ‘Taste of Park Springs’ for its members and invited guests.

According to Park Springs’ Food and Beverage Director Jim Schneeberger, the event will include cooking and decorating demonstrations, food tastings and the latest nutritional information. “We’ll feature the culinary creations of our award-winning Executive Chef Derrick Henry as he combines with his talented staff to produce innovative new menu items.  We will also feature several new products for sampling by partnering with our great vendors including Buckhead Beef, Inland Seafood, Sysco and PFG,” he says.

Park Springs, which boasts resort-style amenities and onsite healthcare, offers four distinct dining venues: the Market Café Bistro, the Main Dining Room, the Springhouse Grill, and the Springhouse Pub & Lounge. Members are able to enjoy anything from the finest steakhouse fare to a quick soup and sandwich – without leaving the 54-acre Park Springs campus.

The ‘Taste of Park Springs’ event will also showcase the work of students from the four culinary institutions currently interning at Park Springs, namely Gwinnett Technical College, Le Cordon Bleu Atlanta, The Art Institute of Atlanta and Atlanta Technical College. They’ll be competing to have their original dishes added to the Park Springs menu.

“Bringing young talent to the table helps keep our menu fresh and exciting,” notes Chef Henry, himself a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and a Certified Executive Chef (CEC).

“Currently at Park Springs, we serve between 800-850 meals per day, including lunch and dinner for our Park Spring members as well as for the residents at our Cobblestone Health Center, and we keep coming up with creative, healthy, and above all, delicious dishes.”
