Park Springs’ operator, Life Care Services, is a member of the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), an association that leads, connects and defines the active aging industry, and that supports organizations and professionals that develop wellness environments and services for adults over 50. ICAA promotes Active Aging through public campaigns and professional resources for association Members.
Our Park Springs retirement community is one of ICAA’s Champions for Positive Aging, and shares ICAA’s goals of changing society’s perceptions of aging and improving the quality of life for older adults within the seven dimensions of wellness (emotional, vocational, spiritual, intellectual, social and environmental), also through its global campaign, “Changing the Way We Age”. Park Springs’ 2012 Flash Mob illustrates ICAA’s objectives for Active Aging, seen in the video below:
ICAA was founded by Colin Milner, who is also the CEO of ICAA. He is a leading authority on the health and well-being of older adults, and has visited Park Springs to talk about ICAA’s ‘Changing the Way We Age’ campaign.
For the past six years, Milner has been invited by the World Economic Forum to serve on its network of Global Agenda Councils, recognizing him as one of ‘the most innovative and influential minds’ in the world on aging-related topics. A prolific and award-winning writer, Milner has authored more than 250 articles and is a contributing blogger to the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Be Active Your Way blog. In addition, Milner recently contributed a chapter to the World Economic Forum’s book Global Population Ageing: Peril or Promise?
Through its collaboration with ICAA, Park Springs is making a difference in the lives of our Members and the community at large. Together, we are changing the way we age.
