13 Feb Moving to a Luxury Retirement Community
Ann and Richard Brock were excited about the idea of making the move to a luxury retirement community. In fact, they had decided on a well-known Atlanta high-rise and had even picked out an apartment. “When we got there we saw that it was quite dark and had a closed-in feeling.” They visited another community that was “simply depressing” and left promptly.
As the Brocks were pulling away they decided to drive over to Park Springs, having recently received a mailing. “Residency counselor Suzanne Baker was wonderful and showed us some beautiful villas where the elevator takes you right down to the dining room,” says Ann. The more they saw, the more they liked. The beautiful grounds, the proximity to Stone Mountain Park and the relaxing, low buildings were just what they’d been looking for.
Since moving to Park Springs the couple has created a delightful lifestyle that blends familiar activities and friends from their home in Tucker with new opportunities at Park Springs.
Says Ann, “We sing in the Park Springs choir and we’re still members of our church choir. Richard also sings with the Atlanta Symphony chorus. Since moving to Park Springs the Brocks, who both play flute, get together to play trios with a Member who is an avid recorder player. And their seven grandchildren love to come over on Sunday for brunch and a swim.
Today, Ann and Richard Brock couldn’t be happier with their move to Park Springs and the lovely life they’ve created. “It’s interesting,” concludes Richard, “Everyone we’ve met says the same thing: ‘We only wish we’d made the move sooner!’”
