12 May CBS 46 Atlanta: Park Springs essential workers make sacrifices
On Monday, May 11, Melissa Stern of CBS 46 Atlanta interviewed COO Donna Moore and Pebblebrook Healthcare Administrator Nadia Williams regarding the nearly 75 workers who voluntarily have stayed at Park Springs, a life plan community, for weeks.
Although thousands of people have died from the coronavirus at nursing homes and long-term care facilities around the world, Park Springs staff have been sheltering-in-place with their members since March 30 to avoid infection.
As she realized the sheltering-in-place would need to go beyond the original plan of up to four weeks, Moore passed around her notebook for workers to write their availability beyond April 30 so she could schedule accordingly. “People wrote, ‘I’m staying until the end,’” Moore shared.
They said they’re doing it for the greater good. “This is something that, years down the line, I will never forget,” said Williams.
