Park Springs Celebrates Food Service Appreciation Week

Slide1Every year, the Park Springs retirement community in Stone Mountain shows its appreciation for its entire Food & Beverage staff during “Food Service Appreciation Week.”

There are four distinct dining venues in the Park Springs retirement community: the Market Café Bistro, the Main Dining Room, the Springhouse Grill and the Park Springs Pub. In addition, full meal service is provided at the Cobblestone Health Center including assisted living and skilled nursing care.

During the week of October 7-11, 2013, Jim Schneeberger, Director of Food & Beverage, recognized a number of the Food Service staff members for their outstanding service to the Members at Park Springs, and announced the following winners:

* Food Service Employee of the Year: Vernon Dean, Cook

* Food Service Employee of the Month: Bridgette Haughton
* Park Springs Signature Item Competition Winners:

  • Alicia Buster, Server; Keanna Ross, Cook, Reggie Taylor, Cook,
  • Mike Culbreth, Cook Mike Perry, Cook, and Demontrich Scruggs, Cook.

*Gift Drawing Winners: Ramon Williams, Cook and Roberto Colon, Server Assistant

“It takes the efforts of our entire Food Service team to provide the best,” says Schneeberger, who calls the staff together every day (the Daily Line-Up) to discuss the members’ specific needs, wishes and comments. “We always need to be better than the day before. We need to provide those small special touches that are so important to our guests. We cater to their individual wants, and source the best and freshest ingredients for them. We are here for them – 24/7.”

Executive Chef Derrick Henry notes: “We serve between 700 and 800 meals per day in our four different restaurants, including lunch and dinner for our Park Springs members as well as for the residents at our Cobblestone Health Center. Every day, I am so proud of our top quality meals and our top quality Food Service staff!”

Congratulations to all winners and of course – a big “thank you” from the Members at Park Springs.
