Number three in our series of blogs describing the six different ‘Pillars of Wellness’ as outlined by our expert fitness and wellness professionals at Park Springs focuses on Pillars of Wellness #5 and #6: Spiritual and Occupational Wellness.
At Park Springs, a dedicated team works on behalf of all Members to make health and wellness an integral part of living a full and satisfied life at Atlanta’s premier senior community. Park Springs creates an environment that promotes wellness and personal growth by incorporating all areas of the wellness model.
Two more ‘Pillars of Wellness’ are:
Pillar of Wellness #5: Spiritual Wellness
Outreach, Faith, God, Church
This includes:
- Having faith outside oneself
- Reverence for life
- A temperate state of being
- Staying involved in church activities
- Fellowship at Cornerstone
- Being good to others
- Community outreach
- Having a belief system
- Serenity through scripture
- Respect for nature
- Friends, family & God
Pillar of Wellness #6: Occupational Wellness
Involvement, Contribution, Career, Cause
This may include:
- Doing what you enjoy
- Staying current in your field
- Continuing to work and enjoying it
- Volunteering for a cause – using time in a meaningful way
- Being part of a bigger team
- New ways to use your skills
- Contributing to a cause
- Consulting with companies
