Park Springs Veterans take part in “Honor Flight”!

by Jennifer Durham, Activities Coordinator

Over the last few months, we’ve been working with Larry Robert and Honor Flight to provide an opportunity for our member Veterans to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.  We are pleased to announce that two of our members, Dick Whittier and Wayne Faulkner, were selected to attend the May 10th flight.

Honor Flight makes dreams come true for all World War II veterans by providing an “all-expense” paid trip to Washington, D.C. to our all of the memorials created in their honor.  The itinerary provides a full-day planned with visits to the Georgia Column at the WWII Memorial, the Viet Nam & Korean Veteran and Lincoln Memorials, and a visit to Arlington National Cemetery with a stop at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and view the ceremony of the changing of the guards. This is Honor Flights way of giving back a “small tribute to those who gave so much—a memorable, safe, and rewarding TOUR of HONOR!!!”
