25 Oct The Green Team at Park Springs
Park Springs Members are doing their part to create a positive impact on the environment. The Green Team, a volunteer group under the Buildings & Grounds Committee, for the last 7 years has been leading different initiatives across the Park Springs campus as well as neighboring counties to create a healthier community. An active group of about 15 Members, the Green Team does a wonderful job modeling an altruistic endeavor in doing their share for the environment.
The Green Team manages a number of projects, including a collection to recycle unwanted electronics, hosting the Salvation Army to collect unused clothes, organizing the general recycling, as well as gathering unneeded medication to be given to the DeKalb County Narcotics Unit. The Green Team’s next major project is their Adopt-A-Road trash collecting initiative on November 15th, just down from Park Spring’s own front gate.
We’re grateful for all that The Green Team and other similar Member-led groups do to make our community a better place. If you have any interest in volunteering with teams like The Green Team, there are a multitude of clubs, boards, and interest groups here at Park Springs that would be a great way to get involved and make an impact.
