Results of the AARP study yielded the following interesting findings:
- 90% of those surveyed said they learn best by putting their hands on something, playing with it, listening to it, watching it and thinking about it. Park Springs offers numerous cultural, social and recreational activities – an art studio, woodworking shop, library, theatre, business center and more – giving you a host of outlets for exploring current interests and cultivating new ones.
- More than half the survey participants search the Internet first to learn about something they want or need to know. Wireless access to the Internet is available throughout Park Springs, so you can surf the Web no matter where you are, what you’re doing – or what you’d like to learn!
- Almost 7 in 10 respondents preferred using newspapers, magazines, books and journals when they want to learn. Park Springs has its own fully stocked library and is just minutes from Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg Library, which has several thousand books, audiobooks, CDs, CD-ROMs, videos and DVDs, and hundreds of magazine and newspaper subscriptions. So whether it’s research or a little light reading you want, you’ll have a wealth of resources at your fingertips.
- 48% of those taking the AARP survey wanted to maintain or improve their personal health. Park Springs offers a state-of-the-art fitness center with a lap pool, warm therapy pool, hot tub, fitness room, aerobics program and a comprehensive wellness program, providing you with all the latest tools to keep you fit and healthy.
