Veterans Administration Presents New Van to William Cunningham at Park Springs

PS Mr. Cunningham vanOn July 15, Mr. William Cunningham, Park Springs Member, was recognized for his 31 years of service in the military. He served from 1947 until 1978 in the United States Marine Corps where he attained the rank of Colonel. During his exemplary service, he was awarded three Purple Hearts.

In the Vietnam War, Mr. Cunningham was injured by a gunshot above the knee that has since restricted his mobility greatly.

When State Representative Billy Mitchell of the 88th Legislative District and Vice Chairman of the Georgia Democratic Caucus learned about Mr. Cunningham’s heroic deeds and decades of service, he was determined to help the Veterans Administration provide a streamlined, customized van for Mr. Cunningham.

At the beautiful celebration lunch at Park Springs, a number of dignitaries and members of his family gathered to present Mr. Cunningham with his new van.
